Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Track Day Analysis ("Track Day Analysis," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Track Day Analysis is a free telemetry-analysis tool for track-day and HPDE drivers, operated by an individual developer. By using the site at trackdayanalysis.com (the "Service"), you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Track Day Analysis is an independent, free service operated by a private individual — not a large company or advertising platform. Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to joseph.obernberger@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we store your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information (name, email address, and account identifier) from Google to create and identify your account — we never receive your Google password.
Content you upload
The Service exists to analyze data you provide. We store the telemetry files, lap data, ECU logs, and onboard video you upload, along with any comments, vehicle details, track and corner definitions, sharing settings, groups, and follow relationships you create.
Usage and technical data
Like most web services, our server keeps basic logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We may use your IP address to apply rate limits.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in (authentication tokens) and to remember your preferences (such as units and panel layout). These are necessary for the Service to function. We do not use third-party advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies or tools.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service — parsing your data, generating analysis, and displaying it back to you.
- To enable the sharing you choose — with specific people, groups you create, or via a public link.
- To send service email — account verification, password resets, and notifications (for example, when a driver you follow shares a session). You can opt out of notification emails.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information or your telemetry, and we do not share it with advertisers. Your sessions are private by default and are only visible to others when you choose to share them.
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate, and share only what's necessary:
- Google — if you use Google Sign-In, to authenticate you.
- A weather data provider — we look up public weather for your session's date and approximate location to note track conditions.
- Google (Gmail) — outgoing email (account verification, password resets, and notifications) is currently sent through a personal Gmail account, so Google's mail servers handle its delivery.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
5. Where your data is stored and how long we keep it
Your data is stored on a private server operated by the developer, not on a third-party cloud advertising platform. We keep your account and uploaded content until you delete it or close your account. You can delete individual sessions at any time, or delete your entire account, which removes your associated data. Routine backups and server logs may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and deletion — you can view, download, and delete your sessions, and delete your account, from within the Service.
- Email preferences — you can opt out of notification emails on a per-user basis.
- Sharing controls — you decide what, if anything, is shared and with whom, and can revoke sharing at any time.
- Regional rights — depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Contact us at the email above to exercise them.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including hashed passwords and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
